Amber

Amber is a standalone fossil: one piece completes it. Dig up fossils at the cracks on the ground, have Blathers assess them, then donate it to the museum or sell spares for 1,200 Bells.

Amber is tree resin that slowly hardened over millions of years. Insects, seeds and even feathers sometimes got stuck in the sticky resin, so amber can preserve tiny creatures in amazing detail.
