Barred knifejaw
The barred knifejaw is a fish you catch in the sea. Look for a medium shadow. In the northern hemisphere look for it in Mar – Nov, at any time of day. It can only appear after you have caught 20 fish. Nook's Cranny pays 5,000 Bells, C.J. pays 7,500 Bells.
Fish the shore for a Medium sea shadow once you have 20 catches; it can bite at any hour. Lots of cheap Medium sea fish look the same, but this one is worth 5,000 Bells.
